Tiffany Ng is a Chinese-American photographer; born in San Francisco and raised in Hong Kong and Beijing. She graduated Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Photography. Her latest project, “A Cantonese Family Archive: Half-Wishing, Half Re-remembering” is about the discovery of her family’s generations worth of photo and memorabilia in Hong Kong. The archive was uncovered partially in her paternal grandmother’s kitchen, as well as hidden under her maternal grandmother’s bed. Through deconstructing her family’s archive, she seeks to unfold and understand their narratives through fabricating their undocumented stories to insert into the existing archive. Her work examines the relationship between the making of a memory and being in search of a memory.
